Based on the Colleges Ontario Occupation Specific Language Training framework, the Workplace Communication Skills for Educators course supports internationally trained and practiced educators to develop effective communication skills for Ontario-based education service contexts. As a learner in this course, you will develop cultural-linguistic awareness and competence to effectively plan and implement learning experiences as well as evaluate and communicate their outcomes with various stakeholders such as students, families, colleagues, administrators, and community partners. Through various communication activities, dialogue practice, role-play and simulation, you will develop communication skills and strategies for cultivating collaborative relationships with various stakeholders in your workplace and develop skills and strategies for ongoing professional learning and career development in the sector.
Who Should Enroll On This Program
This course has no formal prerequisites, but registrants should be internationally trained and practiced Educators working in PK-12, PSE, and Community-Based teaching & learning environments who are transitioning to workplace contexts in Ontario, Canada or otherwise transitioning to English- or French-speaking workplace contexts.
