Karima is a registered social worker, therapist, researcher, and consultant. She received her PhD at the University of Toronto, Dalla Lana School of Public Health. She has been working in the mental health sector since 2006, specializing in grief and bereavement since 2008.
Karima is passionate about training and facilitating, creating supportive learning environments, individual and collective healing, and addressing systemic issues through research, education, and advocacy. She is an innovator at the intersection of academia and professional practice.
Karima led the development of the Grief Education Program and now serves as a sessional facilitator.
