Wendy Baker is Building Leadership for Change

OISE CPL was thrilled to welcome Wendy Baker to the team in August as Program Ambassador: Custom Education and Partnership Solutions (Building Leadership for Change).

In this contract position, Wendy oversees the program administration and management requirements, learner and facilitator support processes and partnership engagement practices for the CPL professional program: Building Leadership for Change Through School Immersion 2017-2018. In addition to Wendy’s focus on the effective and efficient implementation of the BLC program, she will apply her business development experience to support CPL advancement strategies for partnership and contract solutions engagement.

Wendy joins us from Education First (EF), where in her capacity as Education Programs Manager, where she developed the EF and OISE CPL partnership and advanced joint projects such as Learning Tours and Vimy 100. Outside of OISE CPL projects, Wendy developed and facilitated various curricular initiatives and led the development, communications and successful completion of various proposal responses. Wendy’s education career spans various education sectors (Pk-12, Post-Secondary and Workplace Learning) in Canada and internationally. As a K-12 teacher, Wendy taught Science, Math and ESL abroad (United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Korea) and further led various curriculum development initiatives while honing her education leadership skills as a school department head. Following her K-12 experience, Wendy elected to pursue graduate studies in education and worked as a graduate research assistant and in recent years focused on adult education and professional development.

In addition to her professional experience, Wendy holds an M.Ed in Educational Policy Studies from Western University, a Graduate Diploma of Education from Deakin University (Australia) and a BSc from Dalhousie University. Her recent professional certifications include Certified Associate in Project Management and Certified Coach Practitioner.
