Course DescriptionThis course provides an introduction to the use of information and communication technologies in education. Emphasis is on using tool software and associated classroom applications. A significant part of the in-class course includes hands-on learning opportunities. Word processing, database, spreadsheet, telecommunications, presentation and graphics software are explored and used for assignments.
NotesTeachers holding qualifications in technological education are eligible to take this Three-Session Qualification course.
Prerequisites for Part 1:
- Certificate of Qualification:
Must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry.
Any exceptions and additional requirements are noted below.
- Part I courses do not lead to a divisional entry on the Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification. See Primary, Junior/Intermediate, and Senior Basic Qualifications.
Successful completion is a final grade of C-
Upon successful completion of the course, a recommendation will be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers.
