The practicum is an orientation to schools (with a focus on the broader school community) and classroom practice. The length of the practicum is 20 days in class. Dependent upon the time requirement specified by the Ontario College of Teachers, you may need to take multiple practicums. The Practicum involves teacher candidates observing and teaching classes, exploring broader school themes and issues, and assessing/reflecting on their aptitude for and commitment to teaching as a career.

You will have the same experience as a teacher candidate in a Master's of Teaching program at OISE.  Click to view the Master's of Teaching Handbook an other important forms and templates to be used during the practicum.
