Completing the OISE Certificate in International Education will qualify you for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Certificate in Teaching and Learning – Diploma Programme. Together, these internationally-recognized credentials will open up teaching opportunities for you in the 180+ IB diploma programme schools across Canada and over 3,300 schools around the world.
Developed by Canada’s leading university for education**, this program is offered 100% online, enabling you to participate from anywhere in the world and continue teaching while you advance toward this internationally recognized, professional qualification.

Program Overview and Courses
The program is comprised of four (4) online courses including a final capstone project. The first three courses focus on curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment. The fourth and final course includes a capstone project which can be completed either in-school or as an applied project. To support the application of your learning in the capstone project, you will be paired with a subject-specific mentor who is a practicing IB educator.
After successful completion of all four required courses, you will earn an OISE Certificate in International Education for IB Qualification (Diploma Programme) and be eligible to register for the IB certificate in teaching and learning with the International Baccalaureate Organisation*.
*In order to receive the IB certificate in teaching and learning you must register for the certificate. The IB will send instructions to pay the registration fee of US$265 after receiving confirmation from OISE that you completed the program of study.

Course Duration: Each course is 6 weeks

If the language of instruction for your Bachelor’s degree was not English, you must provide proof of an IELTS English proficiency test with a minimum score of 6.5 in all components (or equivalent).

Recognized teaching degree (IB experience is not required)
Successful completion of a recognized teaching qualification from any jurisdiction in the world.
3 years teaching experience
In a public or private secondary school. This must be confirmed by a letter(s) from your employer(s).
Graduating teachers in their final year of teacher preparation
This must be confirmed by a letter from your institution’s Faculty of Education Dean or Associate Dean.
