Member Guidelines

InnovED Network of Practice

The InnovED Network of Practice is built on active participation, exchange and mutual support. Members are expected to engage not only for their own learning and development, but also to contribute experience, perspectives and ideas in ways that strengthen the Network as a whole.

Member Expectations:

Participate actively and constructively.

Members are encouraged to come prepared to engage, contribute to discussions and activities, and follow through on opportunities or commitments they choose to take on.

Contribute as well as receive.

The value of the Network depends on members sharing knowledge, experience, ideas, feedback and support, rather than participating only for individual benefit.

Engage with respect and professionalism.

Members are expected to listen to others, communicate thoughtfully, and engage respectfully with perspectives, experiences and approaches that may differ from their own.

Challenge ideas, not people.

Constructive disagreement is welcome. Ideas, assumptions and practices may be questioned without dismissing or demeaning the people sharing them.

Make space for others.

Members should be mindful of how much space they take up in conversations and support opportunities for others to contribute.

Respect different experiences and perspectives.

Members speak from their own experience and should not be treated as representing an entire organization, profession, community or identity group.

Exercise discretion and build trust.

Members should use good judgment when sharing information, experiences or ideas discussed within the Network and respect when others indicate that something should remain within the group.

Support the growth of the community.

Members are encouraged to make connections, share resources, offer feedback, support others and contribute to the collective learning of the Network.

Use the Network appropriately.

The Network is intended to support connection, exchange and mutual learning. It should not be used primarily to promote products, services or opportunities for personal gain.
