Dr. Karen O’Meara is the Experiential Learning Consultant for the York Region District School Board (YRDSB), where she supports educators in implementing student-centered education through inquiry-based, problem-based, and project-based learning models. Additionally, Karen leads the YRDSB's Entrepreneurship Program, supporting innovation and creativity across the school system. She is the co-founder of the successful YRDSB/York U Experiential Arts Mentorship Program (EAMP), and her research for her PhD from York University focuses on how mentorship can support student agency and voice within arts-based experiences. Karen holds a degree in Dramatic Arts from Queen’s University, an MBA from the University of Windsor, and a Bachelor of Education and a PhD from York University, bringing over 20 years of experience as a dramatic arts educator to her current role.
