From Insight to Impact, Part 1: Systems Thinking for Education Improvement

From Insight to Impact: Systems Thinking for Education Improvement | InnovED Microlab | March 4, 2026 at Schwartz-Reisman Innovation Centre, W-240

This 2-hour, in-person InnovED Micro-Lab is designed for educators and education entrepreneurs working on complex education challenges.

Educators and education entrepreneurs know that the biggest challenges in learning don’t live in isolation—they’re embedded in policies, practices, mindsets, and structures that shape everyday experiences in classrooms, schools, and communities.

As the first installment of this series, this micro-lab is designed to help you make sense of that complexity and strengthen your Theory of Change for meaningful education systems improvement.

📍 This event will take place at Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus, 108 College St, W-240, Toronto, ON.

IN THIS MICRO-LAB

Micro-Lab participants are expected to bring their idea, concept, or initiative for education system improvement and will be guided to:

  • Use systems thinking and logic modelling to dig beneath symptoms and identify root causes and systemic barriers affecting teaching, learning, and innovation
  • Map how existing structures, practices, and beliefs connect to short- and long-term outcomes
  • Use logic modelling to test whether your ideas are truly aligned with root causes and the impact you want to achieve
  • Apply system improvement and inquiry frameworks that support your creative ideation while keeping learners, educators, and communities at the center

By the end of the Lab, you’ll walk away with practical tools for context and problem analysis, clearer causal pathways for your initiatives, strategies to design scalable, user-centered solutions, and valuable industry connections.
