Technological Education Honour Specialist
The Technological Studies Honour Specialist course consists of three components as they relate to educational change and a broadened role for educational leaders within Technological Education.

- Certificate of Qualification:
Your current Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification or Interim Certificate of Qualification must show:
- Grade 9/10 and 11/12 Technology qualifications in one area
PLUS
- Two additional 9/10 Technology Qualifications
OR
- One additional 9/10 Technology Qualification
- And one of the following Additional Qualification courses:
- Computer Studies – Computer Technology
- Leadership en milieu minoritaire
- Science and Technology, Grades 7 and 8
- Actualisation linguistique en français / Perfectionnement du français, Part I
- Co-operative Education, Part I
- Design and Technology, Part I
- English as a Second Language, Part I
- Guidance and Career Education, Part I
- Integration of Information and Computer Technology in Instruction, Part I
- Special Education, Part I

One Year Post-Secondary:
One year post-secondary that required:-
Grade 12 admission, OR

600-700 hours of accumulated apprenticeship related college blocks, OR

One year in an approved Hairstylist school prior to apprenticeship (official transcripts must be provided)

Certificate of Teaching Experience
Evidence of at least two (2) years of successful teaching experience, including one (1) year of experience in Technological Education. This experience must be certified by the appropriate Supervisory Officer on the OISE Certificate of Teaching Experience Form.
Recommendations
Successful completion is a final grade of Pass
Upon successful completion of the course, a recommendation will be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers.

Course Format
This 3-week course runs fully online in a blend of asynchronous and optional synchronous (live) sessions. It is instructor-led and organized into weekly modules that include readings, discussions, and assignments with set due dates. Learners typically spend 40–42 hours per week engaging with course materials and completing activities, though the exact time may vary by learning style and prior experience.
Technology Requirements
You’ll need a reliable internet connection and a modern web browser to access course materials. Optional live sessions (if offered) will be announced within the course site.
Registration Process

- An OISE CPL representative will review your submission and confirm your enrollment before the course begins.
