Health and Physical Education (Intermediate & Senior) Part 1

The Health and Physical Education Intermediate/Senior Part 1 course offers educators an essential introduction to teaching in this field.

Participants will explore core principles, methodologies, and instructional strategies, focusing on lesson planning and assessment tailored to diverse learner needs. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, learners will develop the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to create inclusive and engaging learning environments, preparing them for continued professional growth in Health and Physical Education.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for Part 1:

  1. Certificate of Qualification:
    Must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers or hold an interim Certificate of Qualification. It is no longer necessary to send in a copy of your Certificate of Qualification. We have access to this information via the OCT Public Registry.

  2. Basic Division Qualification:
    Evidence of the basic division qualification in the Intermediate Division or the Senior Division.

Please Note:

  • Part I courses do not lead to a divisional entry on the Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification. See Primary, Junior/Intermediate, and Senior Basic Qualifications.

Recommendations

Successful completion is a final grade of C-

Upon successful completion of the course, a recommendation will be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers.
