Foundations of Inclusive Education
Build a strong foundation for inclusive, equitable learning environments.
Explore how Inclusive and Special Education function as distinct yet complementary approaches and how to align their goals in ways that support diverse learners.
Drawing on research, policy, and professional practice, you'll develop practical strategies for inclusive teaching and examine frameworks such as Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports within your own context. Emphasis is placed on asset-based thinking, culturally relevant and responsive practices, and collaboration across schools, systems, and communities. Through guided reflection, dialogue, and hands-on activities, you will leave this course better prepared to implement effective, evidence-based inclusive education practices in your classroom and beyond.
Course Format
This course is fully online and asynchronous, with optional synchronous sessions. It is facilitator-led and organized into modules with specific assignment due dates.
Program Progression
This is course 1 of 3 in the Inclusive Education: Practice and Leadership Program. You'll receive a digital Certificate of Completion once all courses are successfully completed.

- Reflect on your practice to strengthen your teaching and advance inclusive education.

Grading: Complete/Incomplete. No numerical or letter grade is assigned.
