Cultivating Inclusive Learning Environments

Enhance your leadership capacity and build the knowledge, skills, and confidence you need to overcome organizational challenges and implement principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to create more inclusive learning environments.

Through a flexible and supportive 14-week learning experience, you’ll be challenged to explore creative strategies for adopting, adapting, and implementing UDL within your organizational context. 

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify and discuss the idea of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). 
  • Examine the historical roots of UDL. 
  • Explore how UDL can address barriers related to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and decolonization (i.e., Indigeneity). 
  • Explore the application of UDL within your organization or institution. 
  • Reflect on existing challenges facing the implementation of UDL within your context/organization/institution, and how to mitigate those challenges. 
  • Explore creative and innovative strategies to adopt, adapt, and/or implement UDL within your context/organization/institution. 
  • Establish a network of connections to other experts operationalizing inclusive practices in Education. 
  • Enhance and demonstrate Educational Leadership skills. 

Prerequisites

This Fellowship is open to experienced professionals with a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive work experience. This refers to experience that demonstrates growth and/or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility.

Applicants should be actively engaged in a leadership role (which may include managing projects and influencing or implementing organizational improvements) with an interest in pursuing an in-depth, learner-driven inquiry.
