The Adult Learning & Development Program (ALDP) will be offered for one final academic year. To support learners who wish to complete the certificate, several sessions of required and elective courses will be offered between Winter 2026 and Late Winter 2027, providing a clear pathway to finish the program.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is ALDP entering its final academic year?
The ALDP is completing its final cycle of delivery as we introduce updated adult learning offerings. The program remains fully recognized and valid; it is simply reaching the end of its delivery timeline while new pathways are being developed.
Can new learners still begin the program?
Yes. Registration remains open during the final academic year, and all required courses will be offered multiple times. If you begin during this cycle and plan your schedule intentionally, you can complete the certificate by Late Winter 2027.
I’m returning after a long break. Can I still finish the certificate?
Yes. Many learners are returning after time away, and all remaining courses are listed in the schedule above. As long as you can register for the sessions you need by Late Winter 2027, you can complete the program.
Will my certificate still be valid once the program closes?
Yes. Completed ALDP certificates remain fully recognized by OISE Continuing & Professional Learning and will continue to appear on your official record.
Do I need to take the courses in a specific order?
No. You may complete the compulsory courses in any sequence. A common pathway is:
IAL → NAY → EVL → ISD → one elective. You can take them in any order that works for your timeline.
Can I choose any elective during the final year?
Yes. All three electives (Facilitation Skills, Online Learning Environments, and Writing for Learner Engagement) can be used to complete the certificate.
Note: Writing for Learner Engagement (WLE) will continue to be offered beyond the ALDP end date as part of the Learning Experience Design program. If you plan to complete this elective, this may give you additional flexibility when planning your timeline.How quickly should I register?
We recommend registering as early as possible. These are the final offerings, and space may be limited. Early registration ensures you secure the sessions you need.
Do I need to complete the planning form?
The form is optional but strongly encouraged. It helps our team understand your timeline, anticipate demand, and provide support as needed. Please note: submitting the form does not register you in any course — you must still complete your course registrations separately.
