Sep 9th, 2017  |  News

To kick off the 2017-2018 Academic Year, we welcomed more than seventy Continuing & Professional Learning (CPL) sessional facilitator team members to our annual Fall Kick-Off Event held on September 9, 2017 in the OISE Library.

As always, it is wonderful to meet our new facilitators and re-connect with our veterans!  As a team, we explored our commitment about what it means to “Engage the world’s educators and empower one another to create environments where learning thrives” and how we all contribute to this commitment as OISE professional educators.

Creating safe environments, personalizing learning, challenging one another, collaborating and setting expectations featured highly in the discussion about how we can contribute as individuals and as a team. During the event, we took time to review all of our achievements from the 2016-2017 academic year and congratulated our 2017 CPL Award of Excellence Winner, Kristi Ivan.  We also focused on the future, looking at what is to come this academic year, including new programs and conferences, and our commitment to the improvement of our online/blended learning environments.  Many facilitators, new and experienced, joined our Blackboard Workshop to prepare for the academic year ahead.  We thank all of the facilitators who were able to join, and look forward another year of learning together. winner of the 2017 CPL Award of Excellence, Kristi Ivan.
